About

Hello! I’m Andi.

Growing up, visits to my grandmother’s house always included baking. Pies, cakes, waffles, brownies – nothing was off-limits. Grandma would go into her recipe box and pull out a card or a clipping and we’d be off to the races!

Years later, as an adult, my husband and I were driving along one of the back roads in upstate New York, and we happened on a yard sale. There, on a table, I found a yellow cookbook covered in polka dots, clearly well loved. As the woman sold it to me she said, “You’re the third person to have this book. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.”

And. I. Did.

The book is from 1955. It’s written in and stained. I loved reading the introductions on how to set a table and a house; how to prepare a menu and serve a group; how to keep nutritional guidelines. I loved it so much, that I bought another. And another. And a few more.

Then my husband stopped me. He looked at me and said, “If you want to keep buying cookbooks, you’re going to have to start cooking from them.”

And Cooking Vintage was born!

So here we are. I’m making and sharing vintage recipes and as often as I can plating it on vintage glassware. Enjoy!
