
Pi(e) Day this year felt different for some reason. Maybe it was that Maxx was in the kitchen rolling out pie dough with me. Maybe it’s because it’s the first year without Grandma, and pie always makes me think of Grandma. My father told me that she was a “gourmet cook,” which is definitely true. I think back to the extravagant meals that she delivered for the holidays and can agree. But it was always her pies that I remembered. She made the best apple pie.
I think I tend toward trying the “weird” stuff more often than she did. But that’s on brand as well. This Pi(e) Day is for you, Grandma! Here’s what we made:
